Question Got a problem. Anybody help?

Have anybody ever worked on a block for a VTR 1000 Super Hawk '98. I got a crack in the cylinder mid section from side to side that goes all the
way to the water jacket. Any suggestions?

Sorry to say it brother, but you're looking at a new motor. Best off just getting one off ebay for about $600 and doing the complete swap, minus carbs and such which you may have tuned on your current bike anyway.

I just hate being the bearer of bad news.....

You may be able to get the cylinder sleeved by a machine shop but its likely going to cost a good buck - you might be better off getting a good block or complete motor. Check your local engine rebuilding machine shops first and compare. Just my $.02

Thanks man.

And for all of those who are reading this, that's what everybody else have said too. So if you ever find yourself with a cracked cylinder
, you'll be better off buying a new block. Yep, it's that complicated for any machine shop to bore it out and resleeve it!![/COLOR]
