Fuel light v. gauge

New to SH's and curious about the consensus here on not having a fuel gauge, only a tiny light. Very curious to me. Do you guys like this feature? Anyone tried putting in a gauge? Didn't see a thread from searching but seems like it must have been discussed here...

The trip meter is also a handy gauge of when to fill up.... basically at 70-80 miles you know you need to fill up sooner rather than later.

My 1st VTR was a 98, ROFL only (Running out of Fuel light) ... Reset trip meter each will up and when it hit 100 miles, get gas..light comes on, max of about 25 miles left (for me)

Second VTR is a 2001 with gauge Reset trip meter each will up and when it hit 100 miles, get gas..gauge hits e and starts flashing max of about 25 miles left (for me)
So for me, it made no difference

I go about 100 miles before I look for a station to fill up.
I would love a gauge but really it doesnt matter
