Anyone heard from 8541Hawk?
He's probably busy healing and fixing his bike. I can relate to the healing, but since the dealer is fixing my bike, I've got tons of time to dick around on the Forum. Hopefully we'll hear from him soon.
He hobbled around his garage in order to help a friend and I last weekend. We took a ride over to his place (105 miles) and he installed a factory pro jet kit in my buddy's ZXR1200 and then he installed some pilot jets in my hawk. He's a good guy and hopefully he can bend his knee enough to ride a bike soon!
Good to hear you're still with us. I'm healed enough to ride, still some back and neck pain...comes and goes, but I still don't have my bike back. I went to the dealer today, and it's looking like maybe tomorrow or Saturday. I've already got the 48 pilots, as you've suggested, ready to install as soon as I get it back with the Yosh titanium slip-ons. I shimmed the needles .020 a few months ago, and I have extra brass washers, if needed.
Get well, and get your Hawk back on the road.

The bike is still sitting due to financial reasons but it will run again as the damage isn't all that bad for as hard as I threw it in the ditch.
As for you jetting set up. When you install the pilots, set the adjustment screws around 1.75 -2.0 turns out as a starting point and I normally shim the needles to .040 with #48 pilots or .060 if running #45 pilots and go from there.
