Find the old hag and make sure she can't do that again! Bad news buddy - I wish you a speedy recovery. That could have been any one of us....

Terrible news, but an eye opener too. Now I need to take a second look at my own insurance coverage.

the insurance is a good point. I think our state requires we carry underinsured medical coverage - for cases where you are injured by someone without or with inadequate coverage. but I don't know what the limits are for that.

glad you're still a rider and a male one. I hope your lawsuit puts her on the street. I wouldn't be as civil if I were in your shoes. props for you self control. if it were me, her house would burn down, her pets would end up in my freezer as a midwinter snack, and whatever car she had would miraculously burst into flames. and that's still me being kinda forgiving. you dont **** with a man's manhood or bike. she did both.

I live in an apartment and do not have a place to store bike while what few salvageable parts are sold off. I just released bike to insurance company today. Only two parts of the bike are untouched the rear wheel and penske double clicker shock. Every thing else is scratched or broken including exhaust pipes and both cans. I'm pretty sure the bike must have flipped over because the woman hit me on the left side and the right side had a lot more damage than i previously thought.

So the bike is gone - how are you doing? I didn't mean to make light of your accident with my earlier post but having been there I remember humor being hard to find on the first few days. Those posts that did make me laugh were dark and hurt my ribs. It's winter so start shopping and getting healthy. The new season awaits.

Or you can quit.

I didn't. Getting back on the road was difficult at first and members here helped me with that. You have to push it in the early going. Everything that moves in front of you intends to kill you and you have to drive around it. It's not a fast process. I saw idiots jumping from the right for 18 months.

Keep us up to date on the bikes you are shopping and we can watch our local boards and bike shops for deals. Hope your recovery is rapid.

I've been in a rear end accident that left me in the ER, so I'll pass on some good advice. GET A LAWYER... He/she will get you as much money as possible. My lawyer sued my insurance company because the cager was uninsured and my insurance company wouldn't pay. Trust me on this, leave this in the hands of professionals and get a lawyer. Where did the accident happen? Maybe I can hook you up with my lawyer.

accident happened at the intersection of douglas blvd and sunrise ave in roseville california. My cath was removed today and I finally pissed lie a normal dude (without the aid of a tube and bag) for first time since October 23rd lol I already have a lawyer. he's not very confident about getting a big settlement as the woman is old and appears to have no assets and only min ins coverage. I have uninsured/underinsured on my bike policy as well as my truck policy we'll see.

I'm looking at getting an aprilia shiver or another Superhawk. I'm getting about 6k to replace my gear and bike so that buys me a lot of superhawk or a heck of a downpayment on the shiver...which btw is on sale all over sacramento area for less than 8k right now.

Glad to hear you are recovering! Have you thought about the Tuono? There are some good deals on used ones right now.

I also saw this on ebay if you're into the Falco. This is probably the best kept one I've seen.

Just looked through this post. Glad to hear you are the road to recovery and still interested in riding. I've known a few people that were is less damaging (injury wise) on a bike and then gave up riding. +1 on the Tuono, they are incedible bikes.I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices....Good luck with your continued recovery.

I'm going to test ride a Tuono today. My main gripe is the styling. They are just a little too Italian (I cant believe I said that) with the crazy paint schemes. I much prefer the more solid looking ones like the new orange or black one. Even if I get an aprilia or hell a good deal on a Super Duke too (ride one holy ****!) I will have another Superhawk. I started riding when they first came out and wasn't able to afford one. I remember the first time I rode one (Staintune highmounts...only exhaust that sounds better than two bros imo) I seriously thought the torque would make it wheelie happy and uncontrollable. I couldn't believe how easy to ride it was. It was a tame beast as long as you were nice. I was in love and almost spent 5k on a 2001 model a year ago I didn't care about getting ripped off I was in love. Getting my Superhawk was an honest to god dream come true for me.

It took me 31 years to figure out what my passion is and it turns out to be motorcycles. I try to explain to people why i like riding so much and can never seem to get it fully across to them. I think the best way to put it is this. Riding bikes is a lot of fun but owning a bike is a life changing experience. Its more than just some basic type of transportation. They have a way of changing your lifestyle. Bikes make you pay for the love too. The wind tears the **** out of your clothes. the shifter puts a hole in your left shoe. The exhaust melts shoes and burns skin with equal aplomb. The seat makes yer *** hurt and in all my years of riding I have never been able to get rid of the weird smell that it imparts on your person and your clothes. The deafening (completely awesome) sound that v twin with two bros exhaust makes has a way of getting through my helmet and noise canceling headphones and im certain I have some hearing loss because of it. $200 Wal mart tires on a car last four times as long as $400 tires on a bike. Then there's the constant maintenance. It seems I'm always fiddling with something adjusting this cleaning that lubing and what not. When people commute in cars they tend to take the shortest route possible. I don't think i have ever been in a hurry to get anywhere while riding my bike. Yeah I'm getting another one and if I lived in a house I would have at least three. A Superhawk and a hyper motard and insert_______ here
