Another manual CCT found!

Fellow SHawkers

While browsing in Inet found something VERY interesting.

Seems that company called Orient Express (well known British aftermarket engine parts) also makes manual CCTs, and by look of it their product is miles ahead of APEs. And when checked on BigCC Racing website (those guys sell Orien EXpress parts amongst lot of stuff) it looks like normal price for those CCTs (I used CBR600/929 CCT for referrence)is about 39 GBP. And I might be wrong but I think 929 CCTs pretty much same with SHawk.

Does anybody knows anything about those CCTs?

I only found a one photograph of that CCT
and BTW - that company makes some other parts, even specific for SHawk, for example adjustable cam sprockets, clutch parts, crankshafts etc. etc.

Here is link to BigCC racing

Here is link to Orient Express site, PDF file there with photograph of CCT. To be honest I really do like those CCTs by look of it....http://www.orientexpress.com/

If there is a difference other than color from the APE ones, I dont see it.

Side by side: I would say there appears to be a difference in materials and design, but these are not the same model and I'm not sure the function of either is superior.

Re: Another manual CCT found!

You right, funcltionally they are same, but:
OE CCTs have a enclosed o-ring seal around rod and pushbolt to prevent oil leaks
OE CCTs have properly machined bolt rod
OE CCTs internal part of push rod is thicker and more solid and "body" is extended so it rsemble more of stock CCT..

Overall seems way better made that APEs and with 5 GBP difference I'd better go for OEs...

And here I was trying to be subtle. I'd pick the OE one too if just for the screw. Rough cadmium plating (ala APE) is not the best choice for internal parts. But the rule of "good enough" still applies.

Re: Another manual CCT found!

I did not say I am going to buy manual CCTs now
I've put 2 brand new CCTs into my bike next day after buying it, so all that is for after another 30000 km or for if rattle will start
BTW -as per Honda - on those updated CCts I installed only update is: springs reliability improved by using imroved thermo-chemical process in springs manufacturing. Let's hope it's true...

Re: Another manual CCT found!

Checked. Dot looks completely orange
I kept original packaging and it definitely partnumber with 013 at end, which as I am 100% sure is updated version...
