I like the titaium? color of the 05's and am thinking of doing the same thing, transfering my upgrades to the new shawk, then selling my 98 that has 128.K miles on it now.
Or other option is buying a used low mileage black shawk.
Kind of strange buying new of the same bike you've had for 7 years, but for me it makes sense after spending years getting the bike set-up perfectly for myself. Not interested in an RC-51 , maybe a mille if I had more disposable income.
Though at this point I think I'd be disapointed in another bikes reliablity. The shawk's a hard act to follow in that regard.

I only had my old superhawk for about 2 months I got it for a price I couldn't refuse. But the bike was scratched up but it had real low miles. I wasn't really a fan of red. But when I saw the titanium I was sold. I didn't even know they still made the superhawk. Theres nothing like getting something brand new.

Re: 05" superhawk
I got a 98 low miles shawk in May. I like the red. I know what you mean about new. My last new bike was a 82 750F. I remember buying it so clearly. I was only 19 and had a new super sport. I had the world by the *** I'll tell ya! I still have that bike. Before I got the F I had a 400 hawk so I guess I'm back to a hawk only surersized!
