airbrush work on my helmet, i need some ideas
so im trying to do something alittle creative and a little different thatll make people look a second time and say thats fuken cool. problem is i dont know what to do. ive thought about having an evil type of joker/jester sprayed on it, perhaps some burning dice or even a very faint grim reaper just out of a smokey outline, but im not sure what to do or even where to spray it on the helmet. so im looking for ideas and inspiration. lets see what you guys have
I saw a paint job one time that had ghost flames, and if you looked closely, the flames each had lots of little skulls in it, done in a low contrasting color.. Real subtle, but amazing when you got up close to it.
If thats the way you want to go, then get a slower thinner than normal.. A slower thinner means the paint has to go on in lighter coats, but it takes longer to dry, so the pearl flakes have more time to line up. It gives it more of an irridesent (sp?) effect and gives it TONS more depth than a straight pearl would under normal circumstances..
The downside is that more runs will happen, so it takes a little more elbow grease with the wet sanding to get the perfectly smooth look. But that can be minimized as long as the pearl is laid down in very thin coats with a few minutes of dry time between coats..
right on thanks for the info. my buddy is a painter and ive been running ideas by him the last little bit, i think the checkered flag idea is gonna be pretty sweet. make it look like its blowing in the wind. now the only decision is do i do white pearl or some other color. helmet is gloss black, bike is yellow. my jacket is black with some red. tough call. ill leave it up to him i think
