'97 Firestorm

I thought I'd post some pics with my recently acquired Firestorm.

It's a '97, almost 45.000 km.
It has high mount carbon cans, steering damper, lower fairing (I think whole front fairing (including lower) is SharkSkinz), seat cowl,6000k xenon headlight, alarm.

I'm thinking an oil change in april now.
I don't remember what VTR uses, 10W-40 if I remember correctly, but I think I'll go with 15W-50,to better suit higher temperatures in the summer..
I'm also thinking of putting new spark plugs (NGK iridium), changing the brake fluids (front + rear) and the clutch fluid..
(the pads are ok,I think)

Can't tell if I'm hearing the CCT subtle rattle or if it's just my paranoia...

I will also take the rear pegs off, take the stickers off the cans, set up the suspension (SAG) etc...

Thumbs up

Nice Hawk! That third pic (angle from the rear), if you would just clean up that rear fender and get different tail lights, IS AWESOME!!!!!!

Welcome, nice looking bike.

I'd stick with the recommended 10W40...unless you live in Death Valley or Bagdad.

Nice bike, these things really do look good in yellow, and I like the lower fairing and exhaust cans.

Looks awesome, Congrats!
As you will learn though, red is the faster color.

thank you for the comments

97wolverine: I'll try to move the licence plate a few cm up, and chop a part of the plastic left below, and also get smaller rear turning signals.

I'd get a tail tidy but i find it too expensive for what it does....

With a cleaned up tail, I'd like a high res copy of that pic for wallpaper.

Here's a idea of what it could look like:

Nice looking bike (the 2 posted pics).

I was going to get smaller turn signals for the rear, to replace the current ones... and I'm gonna see how I can tidy it up a bit.

Buying a tail tidy is out of the question,it's too expensive...

Do you have any links on "how to" chop the lower plate and make it a bit more tidy, etc?
