Cool Thinking of buying an Ex-police car...thoughts?

From the research I have done, the P-71 Ford Crown Vics that are made specifically for law enforcement are pretty sweet rigs. Powerful, reliable, and cheap. They seem to be pretty tricked out with better suspension, transmission, and engine upgrades. I've been thinking seriously about picking one up. Has anyone ever owned one or worked on one? Sound Off!

Thanks guys.

I have been told to look for state trooper vehicles specifically because they are generally from a better environment and truly have "highway miles"

Make sure you get to test drive they never replace tranny fluid make sure it doesn't slip on you.. check ball joint and U joint.. that's about it.. make sure also to check the coolant if they are brown dont buy it because even if you flush it its going to just turn brown again

I wouldn't get one because I'd hate to be "that guy" coming up in someone's rear view, then them realizing it's just some guy but had them on edge for a second or two. Get around that and yes, nice vehicles.

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?"

Only buy it if its black with white doors, you leave the dual spotlights on it, and you drive it while wearing a black suit, white shirt, black tie and black horn rimmed sunglasses with a cigarette hanging out of your mouth.

Oh, I forgot the black fedora.
