Saturday Ride Video

This is a vid from 3/3/07. It starts off on our second run of the road, first run I led and then we hit the end and decided to ride it back to get a feel for that direction as well/check for debris, etc. Then when we returned back to the beginning, I offered to shoot video of him riding so he could see his form, etc. Slowing your usual pace to tape someone is tricky But finally when we hit the turnaround again........I kill the cam and we ride back to an "S" turn he wanted to shoot vid from.....so he dismounts and gets his gear out. I flip the cam back on and head back, turn around and come back his way.........I know I could have shifted into 3rd, but wasn't trying to set a speed record Well, somewhere after starting the right hander, you can see what I saw........a big white POLICE vehicle.......hmmmm.....yeah, we stopped taping after that......(there's more to it, but we'll leave it at that)

LOL! Surprisingly I don't ride that hard on it usually, I rarely see the shift light. Only reason it is for sale (and after that ride I had second thoughts about selling it) is so I can keep this SuperHawk...........

Figured we may as well have a video shot from the cockpit of a Super Hawk:

C'mon buddy. You lived in VA for a while!
Rt.60 heading east from the Blue Ridge Parkway toward Amherst. Vid is from last year, but I rode the same stretch last Saturday when the temps got in the 60s.
Was with a new riding buddy on a V-Strom 650, who has 250k miles riding experience. The pavement was absolutely pristine, so we had a very nice run thru there.
(Unlike 56, which we took up & over the mountain. So much sandy gravel I was tiptoeing at 5-10-15 mph. Only problem the V-Strom had was having to stop & wait for me. Felt like such a noob!)

I wrecked on 56 in a washout behind my buddy on a Frankenzuki about 4 years ago. That's when I had my RC51. Did a day trip so I decided to take the VTR. That was a shitty day...but we were able to ride back. Both of us were unhurt.

I never rode that stretch of 60 before. Looks like I probably should've. I've done the Parkway/Skyline plenty of times though.

Thanks! That clip was just what I needed. Trapped at the desk for the rest of the day but what a way to take a break.

Wow, my a$$ would be vibrating for days if I rode my hawk like that. Couldn't even hear the lead Duck cruising at 12k.

I just use my Fuji F10 point & shoot digital camera (cost me $200).

It has a video mode that can record 30 minutes on a 1g card (or 15 min. @ high resolution.) Of course the resolution looks poor on the net, but is really nice on TV or the computer, even in the lower res. mode. Cool stuff.

I got a RAM mount that attaches to the 2 bolts that hold the gas tank on. It has a ball & socket & 1/4 inch thread mount for the camera (abt. $40.)

Greg, i remember you talking about that crash before. I think about you guys every time i ride thru there. The extra caution has probably saved my butt a couple times.
Mid-60s tomorrow, so we'll be probably be riding out west again. Me, the V-Strom guy & some one I haven't met yet on a KTM 950SE. Been riding the past 3 weekends. Nice!
