Listening to it now & have a headache.

They are just yelling "thats not true" at each other. I really dont get how its a close race if the economy has not recovered in the 4 yrs of a term. I dont love either one but how do you stay in office after non performance?

Do people just want so bad to vote for a hip minority president? How zany.

Debates are for the media to participate and to analyse the results because they think we are too stupid to do it for ourselves. As always we are forced to pick between two inferior candidates who just blab out election rhetoric to get people to vote for them. They can promise the world and often do but with the way the congress and the senate work these days no matter which one wins he'll be stuck in the mud just like we've seen for quite some time. What a system!

He did bail out some pockets of big CEO's at GM, Skunk of America and etc... Oh yea and the Health care to all... still not sure if it's a joke or it will work one day in the future....
Not to offend any of our members that more active in politics, I'm sure that some of you people understand better then me the, but I feel that both candidates are full of s.... and it would be a waist to even vote for our great nation future president, this is not real democracy, who the hell chose these jokers in the fist place??? Obviously it wasn't us the "people", we really presented with very poor and limited choices at best, as in previous years. It seems that we have an issue with brain leak from the presidency....

Hell..... I vote for Tweety!!! And I don't care he was not born here!

That's just a feel, I will vote anyway, but neither my vote or your will not do much, as both candidates are no good and seem to have similar agenda's which are not for us to know anyway, but then again, I'm not a political expert and it's just my opinion.
I'm done talking politics, not my thing anyway, I'm here for the bikes!!!

correct indeed! in fact it's an insult to your intelligence and an exercise in futility to waste your time voting for politicians who must repay millions in campaign funds with favorable acts and legislation, that is, unless you subscribe to the democracy of corporations now in place here. The interests and welfare of the average american are mostly happenstance and effectively out of the equation and off the table.

Yeah, I know, but I just copied and pasted the Mencken quote verbatim. The world is in a, er, world of trouble largely because people can't recognize the truth and/or are afraid of it if they do recognize it.

We haven't seen anything yet.

There are alternatives to the two political puppets, if they are even on the ballot in your state. The Green Party and the Justice Party.
The current two party "system" and their media mogul buddies have made sure that these other parties are kept at the fringe and out of view.

it's human nature....true. But it does not apply to all nations to the degree we have it here, mainly because we lack the cultural strength, traditions, principles and discipline passed down through many generations that has to varying degrees remained more in tact in other countries than here.

Americans today are largely arrogant, narcissistic, egocentric, lack empathy, and have no respect, discipline, or regard for who and what came before them. All that matters to a disproportionately large amount of our citizens is the here and now. This is especially obvious to those of us old enough to see not only what is, but also, what was. Why did this happen?

The first immigrant Americans left their families abroad and never looked back, and this anomaly set the stage for the gradual corruption of any meaningful, lasting culture that could insure the development of a quality citizenry for future generations.

For the first several generations here, there was some positive residual cultural transference and many of my generation experienced some of the discipline, respect, empathy, etc, of this carryover from Europe, Asia or wherever the new Americans' families emanated from. By the time I was old enough for a family, I can remember that many of my peers found it necessary to read books like Dr. Spock to figure out how to raise their children. Unbelievable! Contrast this situation to other countries like France, Italy, et al, where there was no major cultural malaise to equal that which occurred here, and where parents learned child rearing from everyone and everything around them.

This of course is an extreme oversimplification solely for the purpose of describing why it's not accurate to suppose that others in the world are like us, even though some of these negative attributes are part of human nature. Human nature is virtually "animal nature" unless and until meaningful learning takes place via parents, extended family, schools and institutions, etc., together with a strong cultural component to reinforce the rearing of future generations in a way that will serve to instill the positive attributes of a civilized society.

haha... Like Larry says, "I don't care who you are, that's funny, right there."

Humor aside, I would have guessed you would have at least agreed that the majority of Americans are selfish and heartless based on your own descriptions of the drivers you deal with daily in your neck of the woods. Just ask yourself what kind of people are these who hold your life in such low regard?

Hey speakin of which, we may not have to worry about this in the near future when everyone has the smart cars that drive themselves. No more aggression, hatred and rage. Just input the destination and twitter your *** off til it gets you to work.

Nath, think about the statement. Ignorance (dont know) and apathy (dont care).

Heard that joke once and thought it funny. (and applicable).

I watch alot of history shows and am saddened by America's loss of our way. This forum is like a revolutionary war pub.

I like the threads where you motorcycle guys start talking culture and politics... gives me some hope; no one on here seems to just spit memorized political agenda/slogans and most seem to have some critical thought behind their statements.

I'm just holding out for the zombies...

yeah, me and Larry got that part for sure. What we didn't get was the irony. haha

yeah, saddened indeed! As Americans, we put our energy, love, futures, lives, and in fact, everything we could into this country. And for a long time i couldn't figure out where we went wrong until I analyzed our history, not so much from often skewed recorded history as from personal accounts, observations and memories of my own family elders who came here on a boat in the beginning of the last century. I was fortunate enough to return to Sicily with my parents and grandparents 60 years after they left their families to come here. Talk about a for-real history lesson.......an experience which to this day i have not fully digested.

These tough and tenacious individuals struggled to survive, suffered the great depression, wars, and did everything with little regard for themselves. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to spend a considerable amt of time with them up to the point of their passing, and so I have a good feeling for and from the kind of people they were. It is a understatement to say that I miss these people and their values and feel honored and privileged to have known and loved them and what they stood for. Impossible to pass this treasure on to the ignorant and apathetic though.

Sometimes i wonder if it is really better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, esp if ignorance is bliss huh..........

There is very little space between being blissfully ignorant and doomed to a life of understanding.

Id just like to point out that we currently are living in a similar great depression, the shroud factor of technology and what is "news" worthy in our nation is really keeping these events quiet. The black and white photos of our elders standing in line at the local bakery having food thrown into the streets is a very real scenario for many Americans and we simply don't see it, its represented by a % and not the terrible picture.

There is certainly a truth that many Americans are ignorant and heartless but we are made to think they are the majority in which they are not. Our school system has been rearing our children to be tolerant and understanding of the "American way of life" basically "living in excess". This has birthed so many "drones" who identify with work and ballooned economy. The basis of human existence has always stood on the have and have nots, but now we glorify the ones who have even if they are a shame to society. When it comes to electing our leaders we are presented 2 of the same "ideal corporate candidates" These 2 will follow the line paved before them in the same fashion as their predecessor. Your "vote" counts because your given the power of freedom which in all actuality doesn't exist, but you don't know that because your vote "counts". Not saying that it has always been this way but it certainly is true today and the foreseeable future.

Like every other great nation in mankind we will become a tyrannical and or communist nation and result in revolt to restore the balance. If there is 2 characteristics about man that are 100% true its that man will pursue power and man will fight to overcome tyranny. I have every faith that America will step up and take back what is ours, where im lacking faith is what is done with America afterwards.

It would be some kind of magic for us to vote in a true independent. One who is not from money, power or the system. This person will be the only one who will actually force a change by tearing down the walls. However they will have a short life expectancy. This move would also require people to lose their ideal fake balloon life and actually feel affected.

I meet more and more fellow Americans who have the bring it on mentality and hope we can be swift together to save the life of our children. My suggestion invest in land and go back to building family estates and local government.

Either way my heart goes out to all those in need and hope we all land back down on our feet soon.

Hopefully this doesn't take the topic to crazy just felt the need to share.

You're right actually, but thanks to new rules that let our own government agencies spy on us and monitor what we say...I think a great many people are probably too scared to say anything openly about needing a revolution to overturn the current elites and their bought puppets in congress.

All I know is that........................................ ............................... and that about sums it up... Go Vote, or don't complain.....

Also, I'd rather have a CEO at the helm, then a politician. Yes, I get that they both are politicians, but at least one of them has done something constructive in their history...

None of us like to believe this government of ours is not that different from any other throughout mankind's history.
As a marine wounded in Bosnia and Iraq, I have lost too many of my brothers.
As a citizen, volunteered for my country, we have lost too many of our finest and bravest in wars that are so far away from our daily lives.
I don't know how the wars truely keep our homeland safe from threats.
I only know that wars occur because there are those who can profit from them.
Those who profit from wars will never truely see the casualty or suffering they cause.

Please make an effort to express your support to stop the wars on all fronts.
For endless casualties like my fellow servicemen would not occur in vein.
Time for mankind to resolve issues without killing each other starts with each one of us.
Ultimate end to war may not occur in our lifetime, but it needs to start with each one of us.

Stop the wars.
