Scrambled eggs and hash browns, smothered in fresh salsa, with french toast and bacon at Cook's Corner this morning. We got soaked in the fog for the first half of the 25 mile ride out there, leaving at 7am.

VTRSurfer, I'm loving the last part of your sig. I won't say what it is though, so when you change it and someone reads this post (yeah, likely), they won't know to what I am referring. (Like how I didn't use a preposition to end that sentence with?)

It refers to a thread that discussed the possibility that early model SuperHawks have more HP. The reason being that the cam grind was changed after a certain year. Tweety did the research, if I recall.

I caught it. I was impressed folks out there did the research on something so unlikely to be true. Tweety did the measuring on someone else's recommendation... drawing a blank... 8541? .. Um, yes, that must be it. Hell of a hunch, if you ask me.

Good ol' Cook's Corner, now that's a blast from the past. My Aunt & cousins used to live in Trabuco Cyn & used to own what is now the Rose Cyn Cantina (back in the day it was The Hideout)

I also noticed the mesa has really changed, all houses now when it used to just be the clay mine & Escape Country........ damn I'm getting old

Yeah, that mesa just above the Hairpin dropping down to Trabuco Creek is the far edge of Rancho Santa Margarita, a planned community which started to pop up in the late '80s. I started to go to the Mexican restaurant up Rose Canyon Road when it was Senior Lico's, a little over 20 years ago. It's not as good now as it was back then.

When we ride through suburbia (RSM) then drop down Trabuco Canyon Road and go through the Hairpin, it's like entering another world, or going back 40 years. We ride to Cook's for breakfast on most Sunday mornings, year round.

I had students from USMC Air Station El Toro in my night auto classes from time to time, back in the '80s.

Two blonde girls were working for the city public works department.

One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind her and fill the hole in. They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, one girl digging a hole, the other girl filling it in again.

An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, 'I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting in to your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner
follow behind and fill it up again?'

The hole digger wiped her brow and sighed, 'Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-person team. But today the girl who plants the trees called in sick.'
