$50 For the Homeless
I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be president some day.
Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were president what would be the first thing you would do?"
She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."
Her parents beamed.
"Wow... what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're president to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50, you earned, to use toward food and a new house."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

As the shopkeeper's heart melts, he gets down on his knees so that he's on her level and asks, "Do you want a widdle white wabbit, or a thoft and fuwwy bwack wabbit, or maybe one like that cute widdle bwown wabbit over there?"
She, in turn, blushes, rocks on her heels, puts her hands on her knees, leans forward and says, in a tiny quiet voice, "I don't think my python weally gives a thit."

I ride with Erik (moderator here) as much as we can arrange when he's home. When he's home - he's always busy but when he's "at the office" he's really busy.
He and his son ride dirt and trails. His wife Kaye has an SV650. They ride together on the street. I think he likes it because it keeps him intense/focused but nobody is shooting at him so he has a bit more fun.

Riding is off the table, driving too at this point. Might just say screw it and sell the bike. Not financial, medical. EEG yesterday, MRI tomorrow, neurologist on friday who I'm hoping will shed a bit more light. If anybody wants details shoot a PM.
