HONDA Crosstourer Pics

Honda Crosstourer

Honda has just revealed the Crosstourer concept – a brand new adventure sport bike powered by the VFR1200F engine.

The Honda Crosstourer adopts the Dual-Clutch version of the VFR’s V4 engine in a unique chassis with clear off-road intentions, unlike the road-only Crossrunner also revealed today.

It has an alloy beam frame with Honda’s advanced shaft drive, and wire-wheels carrying on/off road tyres.

The styling takes inspiration from both the Crossrunner and the VFR, but is markedly more rugged. Crash bars, handguards and spotlights all feature, and the Crosstourer concept also has the obligatory aluminium panniers.

It’s only as concept for now, but unlike previous concepts this one is a rolling, complete machine – don’t expect too much change when the Crosstourer reaches production.

I'm all for anything that spites POS BMW's. With a 1200 motor I bet that weights over 500lbs. The weight is the one thing that limits the capabilities of the GS BMW. If that bike isn't more offroad capable I don't see them really challenging the GS in sales.

Looks light years better than the hideous Crossrunner. Seems like a direct competitor to other pavement-only so-called "adventure tourers" like the new Multistrada and Tiger....

I like it, the first thing Honda has done right in some time now (let's see... Fury...... DN-01...... VFR1200.......)

Should be a good battle between Honda's Crosstourer and Yamaha's Super Tenere they are bringing to the states this year.

Isnt that going to be crazy heavy? I mean the multistrada is a light v twin. Stuffing the big v four in it is not going to help its off-road capabilities. Look how heavy the vfr is. Its a whale. A competent one but still.

Yeah, it's gonna be a beast, and totally unmanageable in anything but a hard pack gravel road. All this because Suzuki won't put in a sixth gear and a comfortable seat on the DRZ.

Looks like a very heavy mother effer... what's wrong with the Veradero? Suzuki sells a ton of DL1000's here in the states, what is honda waiting for?

Yeah, big is an understatement... The Varadero is a heavy beast, I should know, I have lugged it through many sink holes... And no, it's not riding when I move the bike more than the bike moves me... This thing will have trouble with anything more challenging than an uneven tarmac road... Forget offroad...

And to be honest, a V4 in an offroad?! Are they kidding? it's not really optimal in terms of engine character is it?

hey look a varadero....with a different engine...

Hondas really hit their head hard lately because they havent come up with anything really good in a while...well the cbr1000rr...if you can ignore the oil burning issue.

Super Tenere is only coming to you if you pre-ordered or someone else did and doesn't pick it up.

I know of one in Texas that won't be picked up.
