The Hawk is Gone

Well guys I hate to say it but I felt the time was here for a change so I went ahead and sold the superhawk to a very nice young man. She had about 35,000 miles on her and I had done every mod I wanted except the forks which I was planning for next winter. Long story short I figured instead of changing the suspension and brakes I might as well go get something that was already set up. After a lot of research and some test rides I went last night and picked up my 2006 ZX10R with 2500 miles on it and the ride home was amazing! The handling, power, and everything else about the bike just blew me away. The hawk will always have a fond place in my heart and I feel like I gave up a family member but I have no room for 2 so this just had to be. The zx is a little dirty so once I get her all washed up I will post some pics. I hope I am still welcome to lurk around and chime in every now and then, you are a great bunch of guys and your knowledge helped me out more than once. Thanks everyone, take care and keeep the rubber on the ground, superhawkforum rocks!

Geoff

sad to hear the hawks gone, but you did make a good chose. Have fun with the new bike.

Sorry you parted with the VTR, but echoing what Byrdman said, you have found a pretty great replacement. Enjoy the power aand handling!!!!

Sorry Micky but the exhaust wasn't perfect (little scar on the right can) and I also had nothing to replace it with. It was on there when I got it so I had no stock headers or cans.
I got most of the bugs off, but she still needs a good waxing, here is a bad cell phone pic though.

Nice bike. The black color looks awesome. I'm not up on what comes stock with the ZX10R but are the rotors and rims after market? The rims look like there's almost nothing there.

Marine buddy of mine has a a zx10r and awesome is the word. Congrats on the new bike. As long as I can afford not to sell the Superhawk it will always have a place in the shop. For short trips around town it's great and older riders really like looking her over when I stop in to buy parts or whatever. I got to look over a zx14 last week at bike night. I would like to ride one of those.

ZX's are nice scooters. Never been a fan of the wheelbarrow exhaust, but a zx brother is a zx brother.

I'm assuming you are already registered on zx-10r.net?
