Has anybody taken the CNA test?
Tomorrow I am going to take the state test for my Certified Nurse Assistant license in Florida. I was wondering if any of you have ever taken it in any state. If so was it hard for you? What kind of questions did they ask? What skills did you perform?
Thanks in advance,
Tommy

I've never taken the test, but this looks like it has some good info on it. Free practice tests, etc. As far as skills, I saw that hand washing for at least 15 seconds was super important.

My wife was a CNA before she got her LPN. After hearing some of her horror stories i would advise you to try to get into a LPN program instead, RN would be even better. My wife intends to go back for RN as soon as we get some debt paid off. I dont know about your state but in mississippi most of the CNAs end up in nursing homes. You will spend your shift bathing geriatrics. Cleaning bed sores, adult diapers, puke, messes made when they pull said diaper off and smear contents all over their bed and themselves.

Thanks for the info guys. I passed the test today. Both parts, the written and clinical. The goal is to get a job toughing it out as a CNA for a bit then getting one of the hospitals to pay for me to go back to school and become a RN. Until then, it's a shitty job but somebody has to do it.
