Took a manly man to ride a multi-pot big bore two stroke back in the day. I still walk funny from my one experience on an H-2.
Funny you should mention the H2. In 1972 I badly wanted an H2 but finally 10 years later I purchased a 1972 H2 Mach IV which had already been modified with Morris mag wheels (versus the OEM spokers) and twin discs front (still drum on rear), Bill Wirges' expansion chambers and clutch throwout bearing and a few other tweaks. Getting the carbs right and synced was always a pain, and even when close my hands would go numb in 20 miles. Handling, despite my best efforts was never effortless and the front seemed to always be following the rear at speed, especially in the twisties. By today's standards it wasn't all that fast or tourqy but it was a lot of fun leaving a sweat smelling haze in my wake. I still have my 77 RD400 though, which truth be told was almost as fast as the H2 and handles like a really nice high end road race bicycle!
Still have a sett of H2 cylinders and heads plus a full set of CDI ignition for sale LOL
