FASTEST MOTORCYCLE IN THE WORLD?
I think thats an old ghost rider video, love it though. I like the part at 1:05 where the one guy is screaming down the road and the yellow bike passes him like he's backing up....while doing a wheelie!!!
They look like future road meat to me, the way they're riding on the freeway. Car drivers just love being passed by motorcycles doing twice the maximum speed limit.
I just hope they don't take anybody out with them.

thats a recognized fastest bike in the world, clearly a yellow bike and if you listen close you can hear the twin screaming in there. the video wasnt titled slowest bike in the world, red, or most broken down bike in the world, blue.
It's just that the bike my brother (and me) built is slightly updated in terms of reliability, so you can turn the boost up a bit more... Some of our idea's combined with what he already had tried...
If it's actually faster though, I don't know... I tend to back of when I have to swerve to dodge bikes going 100mph+ like they where standing still...
The fastest I have ridden it was on a german highway... I left a sligthly surprised Mercedes driver like he was standing still, and he was doing around 170 when I punched it down in fifth and wheelied past him... Fun, but scary... Even more scary, there was actually more in reserve...
To be honest, I dunno what it's needed for either...
But it was fun building...
It was supposed to be a pure strip bike, but so far he's having too much fun riding it like it is, with stock swingarm/rear tire and slightly tweaked suspension... And it's no slouch in the corners... But it's forte onbviously is the straights...
Believe me, it's highly annoying riding with my brother... You can just hear that thing tick over at high idle in the corners, with him shortshifting... And then the road opens up and he just sails past without any effort what-so-ever, rear wheel protesting, front wheel lifted, at just below half throttle... And considering I have to pin my throttle to stay remotely close, it's just a little bit annoying...

Sorry to burst the bubble, but Ghostrider is what's called a "Hooligan" in Europe. To my knowledge he's never actually been clocked at a sanctioned top speed event(how can he if he won't even reveal his true idendity?). Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. The real "fastest bike in the world" is the Ack Attack streamliner owned by Mike Ackatiff and piloted by Rocky Robinson.

Also note Bill Warner has the official fastest speed of any "sit on" motorcycle. He got his Hayabusa up to 273 mph @ the Texas Mile last year. Nearly 300 mph in an asphalt mile. Now that is sick. Prior to that Joe Amo hit 270 on his highly modified ZX-10. While Ghostrider makes some entertaining videos(as well as reckless and stupid), he's not a legitimate land speed racer and holds no records that I know of(again please correct me if I'm wrong). As a Hayabusa owner and AMA land speed record holder myself, I tend to turn a skeptical eye toward most Hayabusa owners "claims". If you did not get clocked at an officially sanctioned event then there is no record. Claiming otherwise does a disservice to the true heros of the sport like Bill Warner and Rocky Robinson.

You are most definetly correct, Ghostrider qualifies as a "Hooligan", no doubt about that... Where you are incorrect though is about his identity and wheather it's known or not... It's a well known "public secret" if you happen to be from the same country... His real name is Patrik Fürstenhoff, and any official records will be in that name... The one I was referring to, is "Fastest Wheelie", at 215 mph... Not the same as the title of the thread, but that wasn't my writing, sorry about that confusion...
The reason for his not so secret, "secret identity" is pretty obvious don't you think? So far while doing the movies, the Swedish Police hasn't been able to make any of the traffic violations stick, even though most of them know who he is, they just can't prove it, and at least so far hasn't been able to catch him in the act... I'm not a fan, I think he's taking a bit too much risks with other people... He's actually a half decent track racer (or was a couple of years ago), but nothing spectacular...
As for "The fastest bike"... Well, that's more a matter of how you define it... Mostly defenitions of "bike" is what differs... No disrespect meant to any of the guys you mentioned, but a streamliner in my own personal mind qualifies as "vehicle" not "bike"... But that's another discussion...
There was a record attempt in terms of setting a landspeed record on a roadlegal bike by Patrik Fürstenhoff... Missed by a very tight margin, can't remember/find the numbers right now, sorry...
BTW, this last part... Take this with a bit of humour, and a bit of serious reflection... No offence to you, but please, take that statement about "officially sanctioned" and stick somewhere impolite...
AMA stands for American Motorcycle Association, not World Motorcycle Association like most americans tend to read it... The rest of the world might not really care about your rules at times... Claiming otherwise makes a great disservice to my opinion of you...
You feel like defending your own accomplishments, fine... But don't try to a make this into you defending "True Heroes", with all that that implies, making it about AMA and/or America... It has nothing to do with that... Leave Rocky Robinson and Bill Warner out of this...
If you want to discuss this further, do some research... I'm pretty sure I know more about AMA than you know about any comparable organisation in any other country in the world... And I have had a couple of conversations with a few of the higher ups in that organisation... Ignorant and narrow-minded just doesn't do them justice...
FIM is a big PITA, but they have at least noticed that there are more countries than one in this world... AMA might actually take notice of that sometime in the next 30 or 40 years...

Oh... BTW If you like, I can dig up the timing slips for a similar event as the Texas mile of the bike that I was involved in building... Not quite as impressing as those speeds (Warner & Amo), but not very far off either... But no, no AMA officials was present...
