Cycle World International Motorcycle Show-Houston
Went last night. Held again right next to the Nutcracker market so the wife and daughter went to that and boy and I went...well you know where we went. Its a beautiful thing. The Off-Road show was being held next door. Admission to the cycle show gets you into that too (you don't know that until you are already in). Again, a beautiful thing.
First impressions. Show was better than last year. This is only the second year in Houston and hopefully it continues to get better. Honda's line up was kinda blah. Same as it was last year. Aprilia/Guzzi/Vespa had a cool line up. Kawasaki was good. Yamaha kinda blah. They ruined the FZ1. I hate the new one. Suzuki was good. Of course most people were gathered around the 'busa's and the gixxers. I liked the SV1000s. Suzuki had posters too (for the garage). The other majors had nada. Cheap bastards! Ducati's booth was unaccomandating. Had like gatekeepers guarding the closed off entrance. I felt po and unworthy so I didn't attempt to storm the gate:-D. More vendors this year. Bought some kind of miracle cleaner/anti-fog stuff called zookie, dookie, or some crap like that. Had to use my negotiating skills to bring the price down. We'll see how great this product is. My son liked the flaming cage of death motorcycle thingy where these guys whip around like bee's in a cage. Never paid attention to it before so it was cool to watch. Good ole homespun family entertainment with a hip-hop bippity bop edge to it sponsored by some energy drink firm.
Some pics below. Sorry for how dark they are.
Some Aprilia which I like. I believe the guy said $17k.
Interceptor. I like the '80's paint scheme.
Boy blunder on a Buell
My next bike? The H2O cooled Bandit is a possibility.
Me likey this. Some European thingamabob. Great for commuting in traffic

I wish we could see more of it.
It will be in the showroom soon. Or you can drive over to ATL on February 23-25 for the show there.http://motorcycleshows.com/motorcycl....jsp?id=359197

Good price. I spent more at the Cycle Gear store in Tucson when I picked the bike up in June. Kept running back and forth from Cycle Gear to Musselman's Honda trying to source parts.
I also purchased Gaffer pads (front & rear) for $60.00. They were cheaper than EBC by $10.00 (Tucson).

I think a lot of people will like the color scheme of that interceptor. I, for one, owned the '87 700, to this day one of my all time favorite bikes. Its funny, I was looking at a picture of it the other day (Mom still has it up at her house) thinking "gee that'd look pretty rad on the SH as a custom jobbie..." Hmmmm....
I like that aprilia too. Its a tuono i think. SICK swingarm

Pricing
In Tucson check out CSA (Cycle, Ski's & ATV's) 22nd & Kolb, for decent prices.
