So i'm curious how much you professionals on this forum think my bike is worth in the condition it is. Im wondering if I should sell it now if I can get good money for it, or keep it stored for a couple more years without riding it, if that would bring the value up or down?
Where you live may influence selling price. I know in my neck of the woods, a clean bike like this will easily go for 4 or 5K....if not more !
If my US friends chime in, I sure they will say between 3 and 3.5K. I doubt keeping it will increase it's value, unless you keep it another 20 years, and nothing guarantees it will be worth more. Like anything else in life, it is worth what anyone is willing to pay for.
Gorgeous bike. For what it's worth a perfect '98 with 355 miles sold a year or two ago on Ebay for $3,401. They unfortunately haven't really climbed in value much. Sure there's someone out there like me who loves Superhawks who might be willing to pay a few bucks more. Just a question of how quickly (if at all) you actually want to sell it. As always I'd say to sell aftermarket parts separately, which would at least allow you to drop the price and sell it faster, if not make out a bit ahead. As was already said, in the US, I'd say $3k - $3,500. Yes it should be worth more...
All good advice. Sadly, as said by evil man, the bike should be worth a lot more.
Is that CB77(?) yours?
I have an '81 non running Goldwing I'd be willing to trade you straight across for the SH.
The VTR was manufactured for a lot of years and I'm guessing sold in fairly large numbers. I doubt that holding onto a minter will guarantee any rise in value in the future unlike a more rare model like the VTR1000R SP1 and SP2 which have more exotica value. I say either sell it now or ride it.
Thank you wolverine. I'm super picky when is comes to buying bikes. Like them to be mostly stock, never dropped, and in excellent condition, I really like the bike that QFO posted at the begining of this thread. Lets see if he/she responds
B class sportbikes like the superhawk and TL1000S will likely not appreciate in value. we love them but collectors do not. you have a nice bike, keep it
Yeah, I agree, it's pile o dung. I'll take one for the team and keep in my garage far from the public eye. Sheesh, has the man no decency, posting pictures like that....?
Seriously though, I have 3 ~ 4K on that on for sure.
SO? so far we have two people offering $4K for the bike. If this bike was local to me, I would be happy to pay $4,500. Great bike, sargent seat, Scotts steering damper. Although to be honest that's one of the last things a superhawk needs. Number one fix for any hawk is the stock suspension needs sorting.
