Any one else had any issues bolting these CCTs on? I'm just double checking before I get a pair.
#125
Mine were mailed promptly, and fit and finish was just as good as any other store bought product.

He is done making them for now.
I am sure if he gets back into this he will be posting back here again.

I just replaced mine with stock tensioners.
Now I'm looking at these and thinking they look sweet.
I was worried about seeping oil, but these seem to have that licked.
I was also worried about adjusting them. I know I should do a search and find out this information, but I'm lazy.
How do you set these tensioners?
Do you have to set them at Top Dead Centre?
How do you know it's Top Dead Centre?
I guess I would have to take off the Clutch cover to see for sure? Which makes adjusting these a little more labour intensive. That's one reason why I choose stockers.
How often do you need to adjust these?
How exactly do they work? The stock system relies on a spring to keep tension.
Because I believe that the tension must change as the motor requires.
These keep constant pressure all the time.
How do you know the propper tension is being applied.
What happens when these need adjusting?
My chain is slack all the time?
And I also thought that the 80 bucks was for each one. But I see from this thread that it includes two tensioners.

I wish I knew the dimensions and how to draw them up in CAD cause I have access to the metal and the machines to make these and my new to me superhawk just hit 14,000 miles today. If you start making these again Truc I want a set for sure. Or if you don't mind you could send me some drawings and I could make my own lol. Promise I won't steal your business I just really want a set and I hear yours are the best!
#132
I made my own. I actually have a bunch started, but then had a new baby last month, so that got put on hold. I was going to start up again if there is any interest. Here is the link to the old post i made. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...287#post215287

If you make them you will sell a boat-load of them. Trucker was inundated with orders.
#136
Ya superduty my woman is about to have twins which is why I am not that interested in making a bunch but would love to buy them or make my own.

LOL.

Yeah, but APE actually delivers a product. I've had a forkbrace paid for with Trucker for almost a year. No communication, no excuses, if I could get close enough to him I'd break his other ******* knee.
#145
So, minus Trucks, does it sound like the APE's are the next best way to go? Any suggestions?
#146
I'd say APE are the only way to go. They have been making the manual cam chain tensioners for years and will almost certainly continue to do so.
#147
Or you can make your own DIY style... Just get a broken one and drill it out and tap in thread for a larger bolt with a rounded large head... Dunno what they would be called in the US, the Swedish "nickname" doesn't really translate... Add two nyloc nuts and a washer and you are good to go... I used a M8 but anything close in your screwed up measuring system should work...
#148
That's been my opinion all along. Especially after folks started complaining that TruckinF*uckyou had taken their money and weeks later they had nothing. Especially after Mr. "Wounded Knee" claimed he didn't have the money to deliver but had money to keep modding his own bike and brag about it on another forum.
APE's customer base is racers who need what they need when they need it, and complain loudly when they get shined on or ripped off.
I've never heard a complaint about APE and I can't find a single one on the Web.
APE CCTs are about $55-$60 each with gaskets. They ship the same day you order. I had mine within 48 hrs.
Wanna try saving 20 bucks and wait months or get ripped off by a shitbird? Be my guest.

I hear you on that. I have pretty much lost all hope of ever getting what I paid for. He did send me some cct's by mistake which I was going to send back upon receiving my forkbrace. But now, if I ever do get the brace, I'm sure as hell not gonna go out of my way to send anything back.
