Needing WTB Turquoise VTR Tank
Am looking to purchase a "Jerez Blue Metallic" gas petrol tank for my superhawk/firestorm. The color wasn't offered in the USA, but was available everywhere else on the Firestorm. If you've got one available or know who might have one please let me know. I'll include a pic of the color. I ordered fairings in this color, but my tank deal fell through. I'm located in Aurora IN 47001, USA

I checked into it and by the time I buy a dent free tank, have it stripped, painted, graphics applied then cleared we're around $350-$400. There's a new one online at David Silver spares in the UK for $285 before shipping and import tax. Hoping maybe someone in Canada might jump in with one but will still be more than happy to pay for one from EU or the UK. Kinda partial to this color as it's a very close match to my first bike, a 1973 Honda ct70 in candy riviera blue.

It's a great color I dig it. I didn't even think about Canada getting it, good luck on your find. Do you not have any body panels at all? Here is a slightly dinged one for $75 with free shipping. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=32982167190 A body shop can glaze and fill the dings before paint, I couldn't see it being more than $150 for body work, graphics, and paint, even less if you didn't the stripping and filling yourself. Just an option if you can't find one.

Just FYI, even though they where available in a lot of countries, it was only for a 2 or 3 model years, since Honda kept the basic red, and swapped the others frequently... So it not too likely to find one in great shape, in the correct color... Finding a red one is easy...
And also, at $285... It's cheap for the EU for a VTR tank... I'd say the shipping is about $80-100, add some tax and other stupidity, and you end up at around $400 anyways...

Well, you certainly could look at it that way Tweety. But, while you view the glass as half empty, I prefer to see the glass as half full. While the color was not popular, and only produced from 2000-2002 as you mentioned, it brings up a good point. If you had one of these in this color, and rashed the fairings up, would you hold out for the rare "not-so-desireable" color, or would you ****** up a set of red ones which are readily available and replace the tank? Also, many owners replaced the original unscathed 2000 model 16L tanks with the updated 19L tanks on their Firestorms. So maybe there's a chance, and besides, if I'm completely blowing smoke here, the ad is free and if worse comes to worse, I can always get the NOS one from D.S. Spares.
