Anyone know where I can get a set of Moriwaki cams?

 

they come up on ebay from time to time (cams). my own experience is that without other mods, by themselves they don't do much. You can probably accomplish most of the same by timing the cams to a different spec to match or swapping in/ex cams. with other mods to intake/exhaust/pistons they add some.

 

The only mods that I currently have are Two Brother's exhaust,jetted and K&N filter. What would you recommend before I started looking at cams?

 

maybe high comp/over sized pistons?

 

I ride as much as possible. I may start looking at a motor to build if I can find a good rebuildable one to start with.

 

you can always try Revolution Racing in the UK (but they're not cheap.....)

 

I will check with them. I just emailed a guy about an engine with a bad top end. Hopefully I can get it and start the build.

 

Have you thought about getting your stock cams reground? That's normally cheaper and you can get a grind that matches the rest of your setup. I've found that to be the best way to go for most people.

 

Who can do that? I have a lower with high compression pistons and an upper thats ready to be rebuild.

I am in Va. Not many Hawk riders in this area. Most do not even have a clue what my bike is. I have had a lot of guys pull up on me thinking it was a 500 ninja. they figured out it wasn't pretty quick. I will definitely check on getting them reground. thanks for the info.

 

Don't forget Colt Cams and my personal favorite Shadolt Cams in Canada.
