Mirror Extenders

I have gotten 2 sets of extenders fabbed up and ready to sell. They will lengthen the mirror by 2 inches. Parts are black anodized and come with hardware. I am fixing to order more material and would like to get a general idea of demand before I do since the price of aluminum has gone up so if you are interested in a set let me know. I am also considering offering powder coating on these. If you have any ideas on what you want just let me know.
I will offer these for 35.00 shipped in the con US. Our fellow owners in other countries just let me know and I can get them to you at whatever the shipping would be. PM me an email add and I can send a paypal invouice for payment or we can arrange other payment options.

I will also be attempting to fabb up an adjustable rear set soon. If there are any other items that anyone can think of that we need for the Hawk, let me know.

Nice! If you can get the powder coat finish to match the OEM stalk (shiny black), I'll take a set!

I dont need mirror extenders but they look good. My suggestion is, I have been looking for an oversized rotor kit to run 320mm brake rotors. I think EBC made them for the 900rr and are very easily trimed, like one would do for the brake calipers, to fit the vtr fork leg. I think there is a thread with a picture of them in here somewhere. I will try to find it and try to link it. Point is, it would be nice to have a set, to run the large rotors. What do you think?

Ons'Ro...: Looks like a very easy bracket to make. Since it is part of the most important system on the bike let me try to do a little research on the material used to make it and also since I don't have the rotors to mock up it would help if I can find dimensions for the part.

Ok the first 2 sets have been spoken for. I have secured enough material to produce 15 more sets which I would like to have them complete by the end of next week. I will try to split this quantity between black anodized or gloss black powder coat so you can have a choice.

Since you think it is a good idea, and fairly easy to make, I will put greater effort in the search for specs as well. And, obviously, if it is something you do I am in for a set. I think they look good, and they are very functional. Maybe a separate thread about this will be needed.

Here are two more threads that refer to kits. The first one has the EBC rotor fitment chart in #4 post. I am going to call tomorrow to check availability.

Aloha,
Shipping to 96720(Hawaii)? USPS Priority Mail, flat rate box.
Box that size might be about $4.95+. Gloss black powder coated.
Mahalo.

Why do you want oversized rotors? Just put some CBR f4 calipers on and you will get big performance gains.

Why not. If it isnt two expensive. They are functional and look good. Two important criteria to warrant mod.

Yea flat rate boxes are 5.20 which is the way all will ship.

t-dogg purchased the set in the first link you sent, I will see if he can provide some dimensions for me. I will also start a new thread for this so anyone that has any input can post it there. Thanks Ons'Ro

Input guys........Would everyone prefer a gloss black powder coat over the satin black anodize? I don't want to send a bunch out for anodize if the powder caot is prefered.

Gloss black powder coat - definitely matches up closer to the rest of the mirror assembly.+1 for me.

Gloss black powder coat here too. Have these been tested at triple digit speeds over typically rough US roads? Do they hold their adjustment is what I'm asking?

Flat Rate Shipping Box

[QUOTE=archaicguy;323330]Yea flat rate boxes are 5.20 which is the way all will ship.

$35.00 shipped via Flat Rate Box, Hawaii included? Should be the same.
If so, I am in for one set of gloss black powder coated. Please let me
know when available. Will be nice to not have to lift my left arm to see
the back thru the stock mirrors.

No road testing done as my bike is currently out of commission due to the fact that she needs a tire, chain and sprockets. I did like how firm it felt bolted up to the bike with only the bolt I am providing and think that will be enough but just incase I will also be sending you a couple lock washers with each set. A little loctite added to the bolt wouldn't hurt either if you have access to some.

Extenders much like these were offered from a forum member way back - I've got a set and they look identical to what is offered above. I can say mine do not move at all, and yes tested to well into tripple digits.
Personally I love them, far better looking than the rubber lumps sold on Ebay. BTW I paid almost twice as much $35 sound like a gret deat

I should have 7 sets ready on monday or tuesday.I have them ready for powder
coating, just need to stay after work on monday and get them done. From start to finish each set takes about 45 mins to an hour, which is cutting of stock, milling, drilling and tapping holes and then powdercoating. I've been a little under the weather this past week and working ot so it has put me a little behind.

As soon as I get these done I will start on another batch of them.

Guys, regarding testing, if in doubt I've had my bike topped out and they didn't move. I have the 10 year old Don Herve version but they are essentially the same. Their performance is directly related to how tight the fasteners are at each hinge point. If you want the whole assembly to hinge near the fairing then you tighten the f*&k out of the one in the middle.

Ok guys after a hassle and a headache here and there I have gotten 6 sets powdercoated (all have been spoken and payed for). They match the stock mirrors perfectly, sorry for smudges and fingerprints in the pics but they are now high gloss. I am not sure that I will be making any more, The time spent on these has taken from other things, my family and car restorations and at 35 shipped after material and time cost there just isn't much left for me but who knows. These started to turn into regret but after powdercoating they were worth it.
