Maybe it should be tucked behind the frame rail? It runs perfect, if anyone wants to go over with a microscope, I’m more than happy to let you. It’s tight. Fluids, spark plugs, Dunlop qualifiers... don’t trust me, just come see it. You will want it. I’m not a rookie.
After thinking about the hose, it's most likely the carb heat. Should be inside the frame rails.

I think it was an issue of trust bud. He was simply pointing it out, and possibly inquiring about it. But all around it looks great. And with only 5l miles on it...wow. As he stated, $5g is an optimistic number lol, good luck with that, but dont expect it. But that's just me, well and maybe xeris haa. hasta

It does look pretty mint based on the new pics. As for the asking price, you just need to find the right buyer. I was laughed at when I asked 5k for a near perfect '99 vfr800 with only 7500 miles. This was 5yrs ago. I put it up on the VFR forum and had a buyer from VT looking for just that year, in great condition. He gladly paid the 5k and had it picked up by a shipper. My friends said I had a horseshoe hidden somewhere dark, but the internet sure widens the audience when selling bikes... you'll find your buyer.

It's just a question of getting (really) lucky and finding someone who doesn't care about the money who has a hard-on for THAT bike. But you may also be sitting on it a long time/forever waiting for that person. As far as what it's really "worth" if you wanted to sell it in a reasonable amount of time? Well a '98 with 324 miles on it (so basically a brand new bike) recently bid up to about $3,400 on Ebay... And again I already said I feel it SHOULD be worth that much
