Why is my handling crap

Hi all,

Why does my bike start handling worse and worse after I get new tires? On my PR4s, they only lasted 400-600 miles before they started to handle poorly. I really had to muscle it into turns. I though it was just the PR4s, but now I'm on a set of Q3+ that handled beautifully for the first 300 miles, but i think they are starting to deteriorate in a similar manner. Anybody have any advice on what to look for or who I should go to?

Some background:
When I got the PR4s:
-Maintained pressure
-Rode balance of highway and canyon

When I got the Q3+s:
-Only about 150 miles are from commuting (running 36/42)
-200 track miles (during the track day they started to feel not as good)
-During the track day somebody said my rebound was off. I think they decreased it, not sure, front feels stiffer though

I appreciate any help,
Nathan

Can you give us a little background on what you've done to your suspension to gain rebound adjustments? I personally have no idea what mods have been done to it.

Maybe it was your preload?

What pressure gauge are you using? Maybe the one used by the tyre installer was "correct" and your own gauge is over-reading? Under-inflated tyres don't do anything good for handling.

Cadbury might be right, my "good" gauge was off by 8 pounds. My 36&42 was actually 44&50.

My tires are still pumped down from the track day (30/28). Those pressures worked pretty well for me out there, but I think I got a little tearing on the rear. Will pump up soon and update. Going straight back to 36/42

What do you have for suspension? Is it stock? Did you do the shock spacer mod? That would go miles to improve your handling. These bikes in stock trim are super sensitive to worn tires.
List what you have done to the bike if anything.
Don't try track pressure on the street it will never work.
Look at steering head bearings, wheel bearings, etc.
