Angry

I agree hence my problem, don't know what proper installation should be but I do know that the heim joints aren't moving or how they're supposed to mount to the swingarm pivot. I want to disassemble and reinstall but want the "factory" installation instrustions and a parts list. I saw a blog on a UK wesite that parts are available but it was a couple of years old and no contact info.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
I really don't think you are going to get much info on them around here. I have never seen them sold anywhere or even seen a set before now.

That is why I could only give you the manufacturer and no other info in your other thread, they just are not a "common" part.

They are there to try and tie the swingarm to the frame like when the weld on the "ears" to do the same thing. Don't know if it would work or not but that is what the idea is.

Aaaaah. Thanks for the clarification. A little extra rigidity. Interesting idea.

That might explain why it feels like a "Hardtail", the rear feels like it's way oversprung or has bent components! It's got a Fox Twin clicker so I can't imagine why anyone would tie it together as you suggest and I'm guessing they're part of the problem. Have a buddy coming over Monday to help me figure it out. Meantime installing chain, sprockets and tires. She was definitely rode hard and put away wet!!

Last time I saw anything locked up like that was on a VTR doing 1/4 mile drag racing... To drop some weight the shock had been removed.

Well fortunately he guy I bought it from did give me the stock parts or most of them, so I guess I'll pull these and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback everybody but if anyone can shed some more light on it I would apppreciate it.

If you do end up pulling these, send them my way... Saves me from making a pair... Or welding ears... I'm undecided as of now...

The theory behind is sound, and in no way will these change how the rear suspension feels in terms of shock travel or control... If the rear end feels rigid the shock needs servicing, and/or a new spring for your weight... This will however make a difference in how the rear feels in terms of sideways flexing... Two very, very different things...

Thanks Mikstr, I knew someone here would know something going to try googling them again. Also thanks to Tweety but I am going to try to sort these out especially since you don't think they could affect the suspension. I really didn't think so either except the possibility of poor installation binding the swingarm pivot, hence the search for proper mounting instructions.
