Where should I get power from?

I am about to mount a GPS system on my bike. Should I wire the harness to the batt. directly? or should I go into the Fuse box? or should I splice in somewhere? the kit I have has an inline fuse already. I've never done any accessories like this before.

Thanks all!

im a fan or wiring right to the battery. that way your not gonna draw anything else from the fuse box. make sure you use the inline fuse for it

To the main relay using the fuse, or splice the medium sized red wire that goes from the main relay to the fuse box, this is mostly to shut the GPS off when you pull the key.
You could use the lighting circuit since a GPS use close to no power at all.

I ended up going to the battery. I may use the third eye wires in the future. I think it would look cleaner not having wires running over my frame... thanks for the replys guys!

Good to see you back.

I am a believer in having proper fused circuits switched by the ignition for all accessories.

Except for GPS's.

I wired mine staright from the battery, so that each time I turn the key off it does not shut down and need to be restarted again. You can't forget about it of course, but if you are leaving the bike parked for a while I would remove the GPS so it did not get stolen anyway.
