2000 honda vtr1000 super hawk, when bike is cool, clutch would operate as is supposed to, if I let the bike sit while im at work and ride HomeKit slips, warm weather or cold weathers replaced the friction the steel and the springs,i also rebuilt the slave cylinder and this morning the bike rode solid on my way to modesto, when I got ready to come home, the clutch was slipping as if not completely engaging, if I gave it a bit more aggressive throttle, it would than act as intended, but if I suddenly grabbed a handful of throttle, it would slip until it engaged again, not sure if anyone has any idea of what can be causing this, only thing left to do is rebuild the master cylinder and go back to conventional oil,im at a loss and am looking for some possible answers ,thank you
I've run 100% synthetic oil for eons, in many bikes. It itself does not cause slip. If you've mixed it with another oil that does not "play well", maybe you could have an issue. Very unlikely.
You definitely want to completely refresh/rebuild every piece of the system. That includes the master. I had a friend recently have an issue somewhat similar and it was his clutch lever not adjusted far enough away from the master cylinder push rod. So adjust that to more free play than you prefer and see if it helps, after the full rebuild of that master. Make sure the small vent hole is clear. LEt me find a photo. photo credit from member i wanna go FAST!
So in the large hole, make sure the right most hole is clear. it's tiny so be careful clearing it.
I appreciate the help guys.it only does it when its warm outside even if the bike hasn't been ridden,i ordered the master rebuild kit which is the only part of the system I haven't rebuilt, ill know if it was the problem come Friday,
