Hit a deer the other nite going about 50;
it didn't unseat me-but I've got some cracks to fix!
What is the best plastic "solvent" to use?

Ouch...my buddy hit one about two week ago....4 broken ribs and broken shoulderblade. I think the deer basically jumped in his lap.

Plaster or plastifix also works great and easy to use.

IPS Weld-On 2354, a water-like fluid cohesive solvent that is perfect. Hot glue over crack on paint side & use a hypo-needle bottle applicator on opposite side; it will seek the crack & cures in minutes. Drill tiny holes at ends of crack before using solvent & fill holes before removing hot glue from backside with ABS scrap dissolved it solvent. Stronger than any adhesive fix and can be reinforced with plastic welding or hot-glue or epoxy "lay-up" reinforced on backside with old pantyhose nylon or fiberglass material.

In my experience plastic solvents dont do what plastic welding can. Here are some before & after pics of my sv650 (I bought it wrecked)

Another vote for the zip ties and soldering iron. Fixed my broken rear cowl tabs, and a cracked up (POS Ebay seller) front fender with those. Works VERY well! I've even repaired a few RC cars (post curb collisions) with that trick. It's like being able to weld, but on your son's toys
