Valve adjustment

To do a Valve adjustment does the fairing need to come off? And I cannot figure out how to get the lower airbox off, or how to properly access the front valve cover. I got stumped with that.. If anyone can point me to a site with directions would be great. I have the manual, but it doesn't make it very clear.

Start by unbolting the velocity stacks... There are bolts underneath them, holding it on... After that it's mostly about brute force and wiggling... Pop them off the carb rubbers, and then reach in and disconnect the hoses...

Reverse for assembly... Fiddly, but doable...
