tps question

I decided to check my tps adjustment today and found that it was 4.8k ohms. Checked a spare set and they were approx. the same. Nice linear taper to 1k ohms wot. My question is are the figures in the book wrong, or do I have 2 bad tps with the exact same readings that are bad. I also checked with 2 different meters same result. I know when I ask the dealer they will have no clue and I will have to order a new one to be certain. Thanks in advance!

I highly doubt that you would have two bad ones that read nearly the same. Not that it can't happen... but I've never even heard of a known bad one. I would put my money on some sort of error. What type of meter are you using? A Fluke type of one that auto ranges? If not, maybe you are in the wrong range setting. Reading on the correct pins? IIRC they are usually around 800 or 900 ohms in stock form. Mine was around 850 and I think I remember expecting to find about that reading.

Yeah there is something not right here. Check between the middle & top pin on the TPS and it should be in the 800-900 ohm range stock.

It sounds like you are on the middle and bottom pin.
