Tire issue
I know I am mostly at fault along with the oil and gravel I hit going too wide into a blind turn but as I picked up the pieces of my thrashed bike I noticed a chunk of my fairly new tire (less than 200 miles) had sheared off the tire.
Still holds air and seems to be no marks where the bike or debris would have caused this to happen. My question is was the tire faulty? would this have added to my wreck?
You can see I was riding the very edge of the from the wear marks. Just dont think the tire should have done this.

That tire looks like it ran over something.. that does not look like a tread cap separation of any type I have ever seen in person or pictures of.
And no I would not run that tire at any speed at all... Time for a new tire.

I saw something similar happen to a car tire. Guy was burning out while sliding around a corner, drifting in todays terms. Sliced a chunk out of the tread near the sidewall.
Had the chance to look back at where it happened. It was what really looked like a bottle cap that was sorta run over several times and pressed into the asphalt. Since it wasn't in the main strip of the road, it wasn't completely flattened.
