Throttle Response

Checked my valve clearances and replaced the stock CCT's with APE's this week. Bike runs great except for throttle response. If I roll on the throttle, it is very smooth. If I hit it hard, it stutters and wants to backfire. Did I reconnect something to the wrong place???

Speed_Demon is an unknown quantity at this point
Did you disassemble the carbs? If so I suspect the carb cv diaphrams are not seated properly. Did you just remove the carbs? You might have a vacuum leak around the manifolds. Hopefully you didn't throw off the cam timing when changing the tensioners.
