SV650 Oil Change Double Filter O-Ring

Though I would throw this out there for our safety...
My friend was just over on his new SV650S to change his oil since he doesn't have a garage. I basically sat back and watched and just handed him tools and stuff. Well he pulled the old filter off, put the new one on. We started adding oil and then idling the bike to check the level. After we got it close, I blipped the throttle and heard a SHTICK! He started yelling whoa whoa whoa. I shut it down and saw oil puddling underneath. Somebody forgot to make sure the old O Ring came off. Never seen that before, but I have heard of it happening. We captured most of the new oil and put it back in once we got the extra piece out. Glad he didn't just jump on and ride away.

Also, the oil filter on the SV650 must be tightened 2 FULL TURNS after gasket contact. No torque spec.

Wiping the filter mounting surface ensures not missing the old gasket.
