Stock rear shock problem

All:

I know the stock rear shock is junk, but I just did a bunch of other work and can't upgrade. I was readjusting suspension settings after some work on the bike, and it appears my rear shock setting adjustment screw is stripped? It just spins and spins and never seats itself or seems to change ride. Anyone else run into this?
(I tried to look this up in the forums, and I did run into all the posts about swapping other model bike rear shocks into the Hawk. Looks like there was no consensus on another model as the preferred donor.)

Oh sure, there is a consensus: anything is better than stock! LOL OK, it's not that bad but.....

Nope, never heard of a rebound adjuster just spinning. Weird.
