Rotella weight and filter number???

I wondered if anyone would be able to tell me the filter number to get from walmart as well as the exact type and weight of rotella. I have heard about the great results that people have had with this combo and it is about time for an oil change so I thought I'd give it a shot. Gonna run up to walmart as soon as i know exactly what I'm looking for.
TIA -

Filter is supertech 6607, not sure about the Rotella, I use the Mobil 1 Gold cap 15w50.....but I am sure that weight is fine in the Rot if they have it....

I have used Rotella 15 W40 in all my bikes for the past 5 years and it seems to be doing just fine.

They get run hard, often and I have no problems to date.
Last winter I opened the topend of both the Superhawk and the CBR 1000F in order to check the valves. Both were clean as a pin and cam lobes looked great.
The CBR has 41,000 miles and the SH has 32,000 miles.

OBTW, I use house brand Advance Auto filters.
(Just happens to be the same filter used on our Infiniti coupe, so that works out good.)

When buying my Rotella at Wal-mart I also looked at the Gold Cap Mobil 1 and noticed that it has been improved and is now "energy conserving".

So improved for cars, and totally un-improved for those of us using it in our bikes. What weight was that? I had heard Mobil was doing that on certain weights but not on others...

I can't remember. I did read somewhere else that all oils above 10W40 are not energy conserving so the 15W50 should be good. You can always look on the back of the bottle.

Yup, that would suck, good thing I just changed it back in Jan, so won't need it again until next Jan...At which point I maybe forced to try the Rotella...oh well

The hawk holds 4.1-4.2 quarts with a new filter. So buy a gallon and an extra quart.

Pick up the 5 quart jug, it's cheaper like that, then after the 4th jug you will have enough left for the 5th oil change...LOL

Pure One is the only filter I use in any of my vehicles(99 Tahoe,02 Acura TL type S, and the hawk). Highest micron filtration I've found so far.

Hope I'm not showing my ignorance, but I think you don't want to put any oil designated as "energy conserving" in a motorcycle with a wet clutch. If I recall, they have friction modifiers that cause clutch slippage.

correct on the friction modifiers. The easiest way to check is to look at the API (?) label, if it says "energy conserving" don't use it (in your bike anyhow)

I don't think he thought that was a good thing...I think he was just pointing that out, as I use the Mobil 1 Gold cap...I will check it out the next time I go to get oil....

There is now a 10W-40 Mobil 1 oil that is NOT energy conserving. Neither is the 15w-50. Check the label in the back when in doubt. Don't go by cap color anymore. I think they changed them all to gold caps.
