Recommended Tire Pressure

Guys,
My rear Pilots wore out after about 7-8 months of use, estimated 2800miles. I weight close to 200lbs with gear on so I set my tire pressure at 40-42psi as that's what's on the mfg sticker on the chain guard. However, when I had the tire replaced, the shop set tire pressure at 36psi which is where the front is set. What experiences have you guys had with tire pressure for street use and tire longevity?

Pilot Powers. I run 34 rear and 32 front on the road. At the track I start at 32/30 as the tires heat up more. Any higher and the rear breaks loose too easy and the front seems to wander. For commuting/touring you may want to go higher to reduce the flat spotting.

Tire pressure will depend on the tire you're running. Each tire is different. Generally though, people will run higher pressures commuting and on the highways and lower pressure in the twisties.

Ya know thinking on it.. I am hard with the wrist too... I put the tire on around 9k odo read (I know the first # was 9.. the rest I am unsure of).. I am past 16k now... and still have tread.. so I am estimating that it'll be 8k if I run it to the threads... Cross my heart...
