rear shock modification
After brouseing JD site and looking at the replacement shock; he uses a CBR600f4i shock and rebuilds it. What has to be done to the stock CBR600F4i shock to make it fit the VTR?
yes! his stuff is just what I've been looking for, great guy to do business with also. I found a CBR6004Fi for sale, cheap, and wondered what it would take to make it fit and so forth.
Jamie..........yes sir........very good product and a fine gentleman as well. I've been using his shock for a couple years with the Gold Valve. It's 6mm longer than OEM and I added another 3mm shim. Set up about perfect for my weight and I haven't added any compression and very little rebound. Great price, product, person, and a boon to the handling of the SH.......highly recommended!

Thanks for the props guys.
Twist - To answer your question, the F4 shock is considerably shorter than the VTR so significant modification is needed. I use a CNC machined extension and machine the shock to make it fit. A new spring is also required no matter what your weight. I also strongly suggest a revalve as the stock CBR valving is only a tick better than the VTR's, so still not very good. Shoot me an email if you need more information.
