radiator hose and CBR1000 front

So my 99 has a CBR 1000 front end. The issue Im having is with the top radiator hose at full lock or about 1/4 from the stops is that my lower triple clamp is hitting my hose it finnaly put small holes in both sides about a half inch from my clamps.

Im in a Motorcycle saftey course on base right now so I dont have time to park it and wait for the part so I got some heavy hose from napa and swaped it out. Problem is its thicker and doesnt have the bends so I can only go to about 1/2in from lock.

When I do get to swap it out does anyone have any ideas or tips to keep it from rubbing through again? this isnt a problem I want to find and fix on the road. Thanks

like a flex one? I have enough room to bend a hose up above and behind my oil cooler that would give me a little more clearence

Did you move the radiators back at all? After reading about the swap here, I made some aluminum tabs to locate both rads 7/8" rearward. I gained a little more room by rotating the hose you're talking about so the bend faces up. Mine was bending forward when I got the bike, don't know it that was stock or not. Here's a photo of the tab.

the bend was rotated to give as much room as possable but I like the idea of the tabs. Did you have to get new hose lengths or was it just unbolt and add tabs? Thanks

Most of the hoses stayed the same. The short hose on the rear right bottom (as you sit on the bike) needed to be shortened. I took 'bout 3/8" off each end to keep the hose bend in the same relative place. Get the rads placed first before cutting though, the tabs will swivel so you might wind up in a slightly different spot.

The stock hoses will still work fine with the tabs
