R/R stock finned vs. non finned

Hello Everyone,
My R/R just went down on me (and not in a good way), and need some advice. Is there a difference between the stock finned and non finned r/r? I know I have the non finned version, and seems that most people have issues with it. Anyway, thanks in advance! Oh yeah, i tried doing a search for it, but didn't come up with very much aside from it's more recommended to have a non honda rectifier, but didn't find anything about the reliability between finned and non finned r/r.

The finned version has better cooling capabilities and seem to have a lot less issues - my '02 has the finned version. They say the R1 and some other models are more robust and rarely have issues but will require some modifications of the wiring harness. Easiest replacement is the plug and play finned Honda unit.

I replaced my with one from Ricks Motorsports

It came with the fins.... direct plug in replacement... 4K and still going on it.
