Why the hell would someone clean a windshield with acetone? You could paint it black now. Many do this on the inside and it does look good. If scratches are still visible on the outside, paint it too. Or get a new one off Ebay. Most of the Chinese screens are decent, and at most half the cost of a Zero Gravity. Sounds like a good reason to upgrade anyway.

They make kits to restore the plastics on headlights.

It uses fine sandpaper and buffing compound.

I think it would work, ive used it for headlights.

Might be worth a try.

This stuff will remove some scratches

http://www.blacklabcorp.com/all-kleer-motorcycle.htm

I have also heard of toothpaste (the normal stuff - NOT the baking soda / peroxide mix) removing scratches.

Anyway best of luck

if you've ever seen what acetone does to plastics like our screens, you'd know why I say just to cut bait and fish elsewhere; people at my old place of work would try to use solvent degreasers to clean view windows in machinery - destroys the crosslinked bonds - not just a surface debridement...
