Noise coming from radiator fan?

I searched the forum with no luck on this. I noticed when the radiator fan cut on while riding in stop in go traffic it made a buzzing noise. The noise was loud enough for me to notice.
Is the fan suppose to be kind of loud or fairly quiet?
It didn't sound like it was hitting anything. Just a buzzing noise when the fan kicks on. Has anyone ever heard or seen this before? Should I remove the fairing and take a look? Any ideas or insight would be very helpful and thanks in advance.

Most likely a small stone flicked up and lodged between fan and radiator.
Also check the radiator overflow pipe isn't rubbing against the fan.
