newbie hawk

I bought a theft recovery 99 a couple weeks ago.
Got a tank from a member here cause mine looked like it had lost a battle
with a baseball bat. Decent price and perfect transaction.

I'm going naked with it so I replaced the headlight assy with the brackets
and bucket from a box of old RZ350 spares in the shed. Used the turn
signals from same box too.
Replaced the ccts last weekend. Not too bad a job.
I have ridden it twice now and it has a slight miss on the front cylinder
that is probably electrical. I'm gonna replace the plugs but I think the
front coil might be flakey. Probably should replace both(?)
The trip odometer resets itself on restart so I checked the fuse and
that was blown so I'll fix that.
While going through my electrical problems I kept coming across
r/r stuff, folks saying "hate to say this but that is a classic symptom
of r/r problems" which makes sense, having had several late 80s and
90's Hondas.
So I just ordered finned r/r from ebay.

I have the carbs off to check float levels and just clean them up.
Figure I'll set the TPS too. Anything else?
I have a new oem aircleaner to put in, and the tank came with a
unused dynojet kit.
Think I should put it in while I have everything apart?

If you aren't changing to a K&N or aftermarket exhaust, I'd not do the DynoJet. The bike is pretty well jetted for the stock setup. You might consider shimming the stock needles, but a DynoJet install involves drilling the slides, so there is no going back from it.

Did you upgrade to APE cct's or just some new Stockers?
