AIRFILTER HELP

I have a 99 SH and I was serviceing it and found that the stock filter was real dirty so I opted to buy a k&n filter. The filter comes with 2 rubber block off pieces which seems to block the cranck case breathers. well the bike seems to have more power but just off throttle it will backfire threw the carbs any suggestions.

if you use a K&N on the SH you have to rejet it.. If you aren't up to tearing the carbs apart, go back to a new stock filter..

edit: I see you already have a DynoJet kit.. hmm You will need someone with more experience than me to guide you.

I would take a look first and try to see what's in it before buying anything. Also is it popping on decel? If so it could be the pair system, if it's still on the bike. The popping is usually caused by a lean condition, but there are several things that can cause that.

If the pair doesn't solve the problem try running it with the choke pulled out and see if it makes the problem better or worse. That will give you a better idea I think.
