need help with rear brakes?

i brought a new mastercylnder with no pads in it so i don't know how they go back in. very strange there is a pin that holds one end of the pads in place but the other end keeps sliding down. the end that has like a u hook has nothing to attach to is there suppose to be a pin that retains the pads so that they stay up? i looked at the diagram but it don't show how the pads stay in any suggestions? OR DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THERE IS A RETAINER THAT HOLDS THIS TOGETHER?

sorry guys it's a 98 vtr superhawk 1000f.

L8RGYZ is an unknown quantity at this point
As I recall, the front tab of each pad just sits on a little shelf in the front of the caliper. Of course, the pin goes thru the hole at the rear of each pad. Yes, the pads kind of "float", but once you fit the disc between them & pump up the rear brake pedal everything snugs up nicely.
