Lithium?? Who ‘dat!??

Went down to the local Advance Auto for a new battery today. I was expecting the average $100 third world AGM but no can do….
They only show a $249 “Lithium” battery in their catalog and it’s special order…. Is anybody else running one of these and are they mucho recommendo or mucho avoido???

I picked up an "X2Power 14ZS 12.8V 280CA Lithium Powersport Battery" from Batteries Plus last year. It's going for $170. It's been working fine, but have had it for less than a year. I don't notice any difference in starting or operation. It did fire right up after sitting all winter, no tender, etc. Bike cranks strong and the battery weighs nothing.

If you are going to go lithium, Zero Gravity is a good choice. For the price, the AGM from Walmart has worked well for me. The first one lasted 11 years.

I needed a battery and choice was limited. Not saying what I got was optimal. I'd listen to xeris.

Thanks for the reply. I decided to go with an AGM from Batteries Plus. The Lithium was out of stock locally.

I see you already bought one but my 2 cents (just my personal experience, I'm certainly no expert)... I bought an Antigravity Lithium-Ion from Batterystuff last year. I've had good luck and good service with them over the years. I've replaced batteries with them under warranty and they never hassled me. A few quick tests on a multimeter along with a few emails and I had a replacement shortly after.

This is my first Lithium-Ion in my Superhawk and these days sadly the bike sits way more than it gets ridden. In a year I've never had to put a charger on it (the charger is still in the package lol) and just fired it up and rode it around the other day after sitting for probably two months. That alone was worth the price. The battery supposedly doesn't discharge for a year. It weighs nothing. Supposedly has a "sleep" mode where if it does discharge it'll shut down and save enough power to restart the bike. It has over double the CCA of the stock battery. Again, not having to screw around with the trickle charger constantly and the extra piece of mind is worth the price by itself... It also has a 3 year warranty on it and much like car batteries here in Florida, they usually don't last that long.
