HID problem

Hey guys have a problem with my hid i just put in. Well it was working fine this morning i set it on low beam and i test it to make sure it will not goign to quit in the middle of the day so i turn it off and on for about 5 time still work so i put it up for today since its raining. Then just 30 min ago i went outside and want to see how bright it is and it wont start no flicker. Ballast made a long tone and couple of short pulse and then nothing. I read up on other forum they say to turn the wire backward neg to pos and ps to neg. after that the ballast made a long tone and never turn on the hid. i switch back around and never came on.. What can be the problem?

if you wire the ballast backwards im pretty sure you may pop it. how are you running the ballast? from the stock wiring or from the battery through a relay? the bulb could be burnt out. sound slike the ballast may be trying to fire but has nothing to fire. id make sure all the connections are tight first and then try running the ballast right off the battery. short of that it could be the bulb. on an old kit i had it said you have to burn in the bulb the first time you use it, turn it on for about 10 minutes and leave it on. also its very bad to constantly turn an hid on and off, if you turn it off, leave it off for a few seconds and then turn it on and let it fully power up before shutting it off again.

I wire it to the light harness. I took the HID off my car it was working fine. when i install it in my bike and left it on for 20 min. I guess i did kinda **** it up when i turn it off and on rapidly I switch the bulb and still nothing. Ballast seem to still work still made the same sound i got real hot but no light.. This ballast is new i just got a new one. I guess tomorrow i can take my bllast out of my pontiac see if it work

some ballasts will burn up if wired backwards and some are fine stil after. I would also check that your ground is very good. Some ballasts have what seems to be a safety built in that if the ground is not good or it looses ground when in use it shuts off and will not refire unless power is shut off then re applied.

Well the rapid thing will burn out a bulb pretty fast. Have you tried switching ballasts? Also unhook it from the stock harness and just put it on the battery. See if it'll fire that way.

Problem fixed. I just took the ballast from my pontiac and put it on the bike its a pretty nice HID system it came with relays. I have to admit my pontiac look good with the blue HID but you couldn't see anything at night, in the rain its like they're not even on. HID came right on when i put that ballast on. I" think i probably got one of those chinese made crap and burn out in 1 month so you have to keep replacing them. yea so i guess i go back to regular bulb on the car. It worth it to be seen with the bike. Everyone knows how many of us get hit and they say they don't see us. I got clear with a little blue on the bike but look clear to me now doesn't seem to have that blue in it anymore. I'ma run some test on this chinese ballast tomorrow if it work i will be **** hahhaha

I still got the bulb from that order hahahha. The only thing with the kit that keep going and going, everything else seem to suck. How long did your ballast last?
