Help a new member.

I am a new member and a new SuperHawk owner. Red 98 with D&D pipes. I have lots of questions. I have tried the FAQ and Knowledge Base with no luck. Right now, I just want to know how to get the seat unlocked. I'm turning the key and pulling?pushing/lifting/shoving. Nothing happens. Help Please!

Turn the key. Pull up on the back of the seat while turning the key. Let go of the key while holding the seat up. Switch hands, hold the seat up with your right hand. Use your left hand to push down on the middle of the seat, and back at the same time. Give it a jolt, down and back. There are two hooks under there. You may be able to see them with the seat held up.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Superhawk!!!

Thanks Springbubba. I'll give that a try. But, I thought this was a Honda. The instructions you gave sound like they were for a Microsoft product. Not a HONDA...

Ha! Mine didn't lock on the back, and it was very hard to get off. My friend Cornandp (forum name) bent the two steel loops the seat hooks to, forward a hair, and it seems to fit much better now.

I got it... I got it!!! And, what a treasure I discovered. A pair of those tiny little Honda pliers, an allen wrench, an 8/10 mm open end and some crumpled rotten naugahyde that I'm guessing used to be the the tool bag (those poor little naugas... gave their life for such a worthy cause...). After I got it off, I checked one more time to make sure this thing is a Honda. Yep, it is. My dirt bikes and a pit bike don"t have anything even near that contrived (seat removal instructions).

The Sargent seat has smaller hooks and comes off easier.

There is a good writeup on this problem here :
https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=10950
If you attempt to read this, better bring some food and a pee/poo bucket, it may take a while
