Having trouble with front brake pad pin hanger caps...

It's been a few years since I did the pads on my '98 Hawk. Went to go change the pads today and for the love of God I can't get those pin hanger caps to budge. I tried a flathead socket with a ratchet along with PB Blaster, no luck, almost rounding off the edge of where the blade goes in. Anybody have any advice on how to get these out? Holding up my whole brake job

I've attached the parts diagram, they are #11

Torch. Warm it. May have Loctite or corrosion. Proper use of heat is a must.

I use a hand impact with a slotted bit inserted. Looks like a big huge screwdriver. You hit the end with a hammer and it turns the bit about 1/8th of a turn in whatever direction its set to.

+1 on the hand impact driver. Those things go through a lot of heat cycles in use. Be 100% sure to use anti-seize on those and the pins on re-assembly.

A hand impact driver is cheap enough to go get one for this & always have it. ($15)

Thanks everyone for the advice, I will try some heat and the hand impact driver. You would think Honda would have come up with a better idea for caps for these pins, but I'm not an engineer. I'll have to order some new caps once I get the old ones out unless I can find something that would work as good and easier to remove.

Heat

Replace them with stainless steel hex versions (10mm fine thread (M10 x 1)) with copper grease.

Just got off the phone with them, I can get them in TI gold color. Honestly I rather just get them from Pro-Bolt. I did a search on Ebay and all the sellers selling Grub bolts are outside the US. I was hoping Parts-Unlimited or Tucker Rocky would have them but they don't. While I'm at it gonna order 3 since the rear uses the same part number, and I will replacing the pads soon anyway.

I ordered the back as well, they all came out with the manual impact driver. I work at a Honda dealer, got all 3 Titanium Gold grub screws for under $20 with shipping.
